This is the tallest daylily we have ever introduced. The blossom strongly resembles CHICAGO QUEEN although the ruffling contribution of DANCE BALLERINA DANCE can clearly be seen. Light lavender purple petals are wide and carry heavy ruffling; prominent darker purple band surrounds cream green throat. Bud count is good. On an established specimen clump, scapes are strong, tall and stately. We like this one a lot.

We call this lovely flower the 'Golden DANCE BALLERINA DANCE' after one of JERUSALEM's famous breeder parents. The color is a bright, intense gold; petals are very creped, ruffled and 2¾ wide, proportionately quite wide for a 5 flower. The name JERUSALEM was selected due to the flower color being likened to the 'gold in the Temple'. Parentage: TRUFFLES X DANCE BALLERINA DANCE.

Highly refined yellow flowers are saucer shaped; a discus in terms of its roundness and flatness. Plants are large, scapes are short and very sturdy, making JOEL a specimen for the front of the sunny perennial border. JOEL still sets the standard by which many yellows are judged.

Base color is mauve with lighter highlights on the midribs. Almost looks like it has been antiqued. Deeper rose ruffling shows DANCE BALLERINA DANCE influence. Throat is bright chartreuse. Charming and Victorian in color tone, a classic form, and a small, tight French ruffle. There is a beautiful contrast between the sunny center of flower and the darker late afternoon shades found on the precise petal edges.
